An Exclusive Evening of Art at the Amanyara

art amanyara

On Saturday November 9, 2013 I participated and attended a group art showing at the legendary Amanyara. The event was a fundraiser for the  ECG Youth Centre, a cause near and dear to my heart.  There were a very select few, just ten artists, chosen to exhibit works for the exclusive sold out event.  The three sculptures, two photographs, and one of the two paintings I included in the show all sold much to my joy.  I had the chance to speak with director Roxann Wake-Forbes today and she jubilantly relayed that the event fundraising goals were not only met but exceeded! Fantastic job to Courtney Miller and Roxann who spent countless hours organizing and to all of the many patrons who donated their time and skills to create such a beautiful event for such a worthy cause.  If you would like to volunteer at the contre or discover ther ways in which you can help the Youth Centre thrive please contact Roxann here.

Commissioned and New Waterscape Paintings

Commissioned Waterscape Abstract Painting No.4 36″ x 50″ x 2.5″ SOLD

Last month I finalized several paintings within my Waterscape Series.  Above and below are the largest piece which was commissioned by a client overseas.  Because I use 100% plywood frames manufactured at TC Millwork, my paintings are nearly indestructible.  Plywood frames, versus canvas, allows me to layer and texture to my hearts content while I work and guarantees these beautiful artworks will endure several lifetimes for their owners.  Clients shipping abroad can be reassured their art will arrive unscathed.

Commissioned Waterscape Abstract Painting No.4 36″ x 50″ x 2.5″ SOLD

Photographing these paintings is a real challenge as the hyper glossy topcoat which is designed to give the appearance that the painting is forever immersed in water, catches light reflections from every angle.  These pieces truly must be seen in person to be fully appreciated.  The three below may be viewed at Framing Grace Gallery in the Regent Village.

UPDATE!

A few images from the evening!

Neighboring Environmental Arts Flower Shop filled with goodies and heavenly scents for the holidays.

The gallery reception was even better attended than expected, there were moments when crossing the room simply wasn’t an option!  So nice to have so many people come out in support of our local art community, the room was absolutely abuzz with conversation.

Many thanks to all my friends who came to show their support!

Congratulations to Joelle and Neil on their beautiful new space and wonderful location in the Regent Village and many thanks for hosting such a great evening at the gallery!
